Forum Decorum
Welcome to Kakching Thinks, and many thanks for your interest in the forum talks here. We understand and appreciate the good will with which you join us. At the same time, we want you to read and agree with the Fairness Policy of this post, Forum Decorum, before you post anything here.
If you write anything in any of the Boards in Kakching Thinks, you will be understood as having agreed with the terms and conditions or the Fairness Policy governing any act of writing in this forum. Thus, by writing in any of the Boards, you agree:

As we uphold a free and fair policy here and as everybody is expected to behave honorably, we prefer and encourage forum registration using real names or names people are better known by, though registration using fake names is not unacceptable. At the same time, if anybody is uncomfortable with his/her real identity being known in certain circumstances, they are requested to feel free to open a new account using whatever fake name they please, keeping their current account intact. Members who have already made their popular names their Display Names are advised against changing them back to fake names. Any queries can be addressed to the administrators via PM (personal message).
Importantly, at the same time, we would want you to note this point:
The conversations and discussions here will surely prove historic in future, and at least some of what you will say here may now be enlightening to the fellow members and to the people of the town and the villages around, and become what future generations will honor as having contributed to the town’s and/or the surrounding villages’ history. In such cases, people of these places will surely want to know who you are so they look appropriately to you for guidance in time of social crises and turmoil, and when they need somebody like you to lead them through difficult times. Our society needs to know our own human resources more than any other forms of resources. In this light, we request you to kindly make your Display Name to be what you are better know by, be it your real name or pen name, or any other name you are better known by (or you want yourself to be known by from now on), so people can come to you when they need you. How to change your Display Name?
Addressing fellow members
Please feel free to address fellow members by their Display Names. No unnecessary show of interpersonal civilities. Here you are independent, and free to express your opinion. Just make your arguments well-reasoned, and keep your language and tone decent.
At the same time, as we encourage mass participation in the forum of the people of Kakching and the villages around, and the use of members' real names for their display names, and as Kakching, as well as the villages, is a small area of a small population with nearly everybody knowing each other at least by face (though a disappearing phenomenon), our members may sometimes find themselves talking with people in their real family and social circles, in which case they feel influenced by the dynamics of their real life relations with these people. In such cases, we encourage our members to feel free and behave on the forum floors as they think appropriate to keep their real life relationship intact, but without compromising the quality of their participation in the discussions.
Language and Style
Please feel free to be yourself when writing in the forum. At the same time we'd appreciate it more if our members make it as formal as they can when writing.

Kakching Thinks requests you to write as best as you can for what you write here in the forum is yours--you say that. Whatever you say here will make part of your biography, and will ever remain open and accessible to anybody online. We strongly resist any "original" material shared here being plagiarized anywhere, but Kakching Thinks cannot protect your rights on what you write here. What Kakching Thinks can do at best to enable ourselves to claim rights on our own ideas shared here is to request our members to use their real names or pen names for their Display Names.
We encourage our members to quote material profusely from whatever sources appropriate, but we, in the same note, request you to provide proper citations (or just minimum reference information if you don't know how to cite material properly, or do just something you can such as mentioning the writer's name (if it's from a book), etc.). In all this, the line of connection or relevance has to be kept clearly, and the talk should always come back to the local topic being discussed.
We will keep amending this "Decorum". If anybody has any issues, they can contact the Admins.

1. to help build and uphold a co-operative atmosphere in the forum.Posts and comments deemed running afoul of this Fairness Policy will be deleted without any warning.
2. to write only thoughtfully, i.e. your posts and comments should have substance and they should be reasoned well.
3. to write decently, with your language toned and nuanced as appropriate in civilized social discussions.
4. to participate only in the discussions of topics and issues you have either queries about or substantial things to say about.
5. not to be parochial in the views expressed, but to keep your mental horizons open to see the issues under study in the larger state, national or even global contexts as deemed appropriate.
6. not to write in any discussion threads if you do not have anything substantial to say/share. (Your very presence in the forum is greatly encouraging to and valued much by the participants.)
7. not to make any unwarranted attacks on anybody in the forum or outside it. Being usual parts of discussions, disagreements are anticipated, and if you disagree with anybody about anything, any views expressed, we encourage you to present your point as strongly as you can without compromising your position/conviction even a bit. We honor your opinion, and don't expect it to change due to nothing but a change in your conviction that occurs in course of the argumentative discussion. However, make sure your argument is topical (nothing personal) and your language controlled and nuanced well as in argumentative books. At the same time we will appreciate it if you acknowledge the good points made by any fellow member with whom you are having disagreements with on the same thread or elsewhere on the forum. When you have a general disagreement with anybody on anything, please please also acknowledge appropriately (to help build a cooperative discussion environment) the meeting points between you and the other person if there is and meeting point between you, so you can start from there.
