Hi Sunderlal, thank you for agreeing to be our guest on this thread. I have been waiting for this moment: now we are actually in our WriTalk session. You, as our guest, are actually inaugurating our WriTalk series, quite coincidentally. Writalk is a term we have coined here to describe the current international internet community phenomenon of people talk on social media and forum sites through writing. WriTalk is the series of writalks we are hosting here.
We very warmly welcome you here, and thank you once again for agreeing to be our guest and share your knowledge and views on certain things.
The topic for this one thread we are on (there will be other writalk threads as well which I will invite you to and we will writalk) is, as mentioned in the title above, Fitness Sensibility in Kakching.
I have a predilection for mixing Manipuri language and English, when appropriate. I will behave as myself in this conversation as well. I would ask you to kindly writalk with me in Manipuri as you think fit. Many people who do not know English very well read this conversation, so it may be a good idea to sometimes writalk in Manipuri.

Sunderlal, I heard that drug abuse among youths is rampant in Manipur, particularly in the town (Kakching). This was sort of confirmed when I saw a surprising number of youths addicted to various substances, from alchohol to tablets to what's commonly called number four. For example, the situation is so grave in my neighborhood that not many people have healthy complexion (seriously) and when I walked down the road nearly whoever there stared at me like they "saw one human" (as one woman told me). That was not because I was handsome and I looked foreign, but because I was there--a "human" walking, beautiful or ugly, handsome or not. One looking like "unusually" unaddicted to drugs when it is a standard to be addicted or to use at least some form of intoxicant.
I think our society in this regard was brought to this grave situation by seveal disparate causes. Still I see quite a few things or elements in our own society itself that can heal or at least help heal this ailment, and gym is one of them. As a health education expert teaching in the highest educational institute in the state (Manipur University) and one running a gym of your own at home with many youths attending, what do you say about gymming in this regard?

Gym and substance abuse In my view, one result for abusing unwanted substances in our society is our education system. Physical activity is must important in youth and adolescent period. Leisure time active is also important. Those youth and adolescent who does not have involved in activities and neglected about healthy. They are automatically attracted toward drugs and unwanted substances. Today's education system does not fulfilled all the youths required on this concept. I doesn't say gym give all this required. But in Some certain point gym give us health and discipline. The healthy concept only can lead us from drug free life. It is said "sound mind in a sound body". -Sunderlal
