Just a few points.
Where is the name for 2013? It is good effort by our teachers and students at Kakching. Nonetheless, a couple of names in the list is not enough for Kakching to be competitive. We need to produce as much as possible first class students and high second division ranks; at least 90 percent of our students should pass out the 10th exam from the Kakching Center. We should think of an overall welfare of the students, otherwise, these few good students will be eaten alive when they come back to do something good for the people. Majority rules the society. If majority of the students are not doing well, a few good students will go out of Kakching and will not come back even if they want to. That will not be good for Kakching. We want majority of our students doing well overall at Kakching schools and colleges. How many first class students were there from the Kakching center (2007 to 2013) and what was the overall passing percentage (2007-2013)? That should give some indication of how we are doing at Kakching educationally, what we need to do more in future.
Nonetheless, it is a good effort by our teachers and students who ranked well in the state competitive examination. We need to keep data at all levels, not just for the few ranked students. That way we can work to improve further in coming years.
Wish better performance in 2014 to all the students appearing this year.

Position holders are not the only our ACHIEVEMENTS. I cannot make the list for those who are doing well in their studies, have done good jobs in a day or two, it might take two or three weeks. It means that the list is so long. I would make a list for those who were my students in this month, likely the end.

There are also many students who have done in OLYMPIADS (IMO, NSO, IEO) every year. I will include their list aslo. My students also outdo others in interaction programmes/camps/seminars etc. As of now, there are mathematical wizards among Kakching students also.

Dear Brother Kunjo Noarem:
It is a good idea to collect the data for last many years.
I am not sure who is responsible for collecting and maintaining the data for students appearing or passing out of Examinations at Kakching Schools and Colleges. Is it to be done by KMC or Schools themselves or by Information and Library Center or by local societies? But, it has to be done and maintained continuously. Such data are important for teachers, students, schools and policy makers for further development and comparative studies. We can't go just by yearly data. In this informatics age, accurate data are the key to future planning. It is not just for students/schools, but also true for agriculture, farming, business, health, tourism, economy, etc. Then only we can tell our politicians and leaders what we need to do for further development. Unless, the civil societies and scholars at Kaching are proactive with reliable data (without thokla thoklaba, nongma nongma gi approach), the policy makers are not going to take up any program on their own. That is why we need Think Tank societies at Kakching with pure numbers/data.
If we look at the data for the last 5 years at Kakching for Class X and XII, and then compare that with that of 10 years ago, we might get a reasonably clear picture. We can formulate or plan what we need to do for the next 5-10 years, so that we are moving upward and not going down or remain stagnant.
Let us collect and keep data in as many areas we can get for Kakching. That will be important for Kakching Development in Future.

I’m not sure but guess it must be within the purview/remit of Zonal Education Office, Kakching, to collect and maintain the data. It would be really helpful if somebody confirms that. Every school must be maintaining data their own students’ performance over years, but I doubt most schools in Kakching/Manipur do maintain an overall data to put themselves in context. Every competitive school in Manipur must surely have some data of this kind for their own reference and self-assessment. If any school does not maintain this, they should, if they don’t want to lower their rank on a list of schools. Aspiring to excellence, being supportive to who seems promising, being appreciative of those who achieves excellence—all these are good. Better than not being or doing so. However, I think it would be still better if we can widen the scope a little bit more to include (as Sushilkumar Khumukcham noted on another thread on this very Board) those who seem not that promising at the moment in our being supportive and encouraging. I hear some snob factor is at work at Kakching. Yes, we are free to act in any way as long as it’s not illegal, and we may help whoever we feel like helping, in whatever way that pleases us, but it should better not be in a way that discourages or threaten those who are or seem (or think they are) less capable. We don’t have to be philanthropists in this. Though nobody can demand our being more open-minded or magnanimous than we are (if we are at all), we can make our public spaces, such as community libraries, feel more welcoming (rather than occupied by some section) to all and sundry (if these spaces don’t have a minimum qualification for entry, which they rightly put in cases of such things as special coaching classes, which are rightly not open to all but to a select few, and if any student wants such facilities, they should meet the minimum entry requirements).

Thanks brother Kunjo Naorem for your collection of last 7 years data for our students.
This year, 2014 we are hopping a lot from our students. When I asked some teachers about possibility of position holders they replied, a student from public school, Kakching might stood position. Various State level Mock Test of HSLC exam the student stood 2nd or 3rd position.
Nowadays not only teachers parents are also very enthusiastic about the study of their children. They are pro active about the preparation of HSLC Exam. Their children are sending exam coaching at Imphal a bit before the exam schedule is announced. Those parents who are struggling for squire meal also keeping their student at HSLC Exam camp at respected schools. They are not mining for starvation or any problems that arises. Teacher are also quite experience of handling students.
